The Brain Trust” was the name given to the group of advisors of President Roosevelt for the American 1932 elections. It was formed by five very high prestigious professors that came from scientific areas such as law, economics, politics, agriculture and science. They advised the future president in policies capable of bringing to an end the 1929 Great Depression.

Although they had different political inclinations, they inspired some of the policies that were named “ New Deal ” due to the very famous Roosevelt phrase a new deal for American people when he was nomineed by the Democratic Party for the 1932 presidential elections.

All the initiatives that at that time revolutionized the politics world are today totally incorporated in the economic structure of industrialised countries as if they had always been like that. Unemployment subsidies, banking and finance regulatory norms and deposit guaranties or collective bargaining for wages were some of the more important reforms.

Therefore, it is inarguable the positive effect that Brain Trust had in the shaping of Rooselvelt political and economical criteria. Above all, these criteria changed completely the way of managing the Federal Government of the United States in the 20th century.
