THE POWER TO BELIEVEALSO IN TIMES OF CRISIS
- BELIEVE IT OR NOT... DRESS APPROPRIATELY
Get dressed. Don't stay in your pyjamas, dressing gown, tracksuit or similar all day. This will put your brain in productive mode. Because none of us go to the office like that... do we?
CREATE A COMFORTABLE WORKSPACE THAT SUITS YOUR NEEDS
It is not advisable to use the bed or sofa in front of the TV, please watch your back. It is essential to keep the leisure and work spaces in the house separate and well-defined, where possible.
ESTABLISH A ROUTINE AND PREPARE THE WORKPLACE IN ADVANCE.
If the space resembles an office, it will be easier for you to adapt to teleworking. If you can, let in natural light and put away distracting objects.
SET A WORKING TIMETABLE
It is important, as it lets everyone know when someone will be online, it will increase productivity.
TAKE REGULAR BREAKS
It is important to take advantage of the free time saved in commuting to the workplace.
KEEP IN TOUCH WITH COLLEAGUES
This aspect is important and perhaps one of the easiest to accomplish. There are plenty of easy-to-use tools (MS Skype / MS Team, Google Hangouts / Meet, Zoom, even whatsapp...) Don't isolate yourself. Personal relationships are crucial to keep perspective and avoid stressful situations.
HIGHLIGHT THE MOST IMPORTANT TASKS AND PRIORITISE THEM... AND DON'T LOSE MOTIVATION
Having to be at home should not be a frustration, nor should it be an extraordinary motivation. It should be a circumstance that leads us to make decisions about what I do and what is most important to accomplish.
PERFORMS REGULAR BACKUPS
Record what you are working on from time to time, and keep a copy for yourself. Every precautionary measure is too little. Lest we add to the weirdness of the situation by having to work twice as hard as you do.
Define times for reading emails, personal phone calls, using social networks, reading blogs, using whatsapp....
KEEP CORONAVIRUS SECURITY MEASURES IN PLACE
Maintain the #coronavirus prevention measures set out by the health and local authorities. Be cautious, don't go out of the house if you don't have to, to do the shopping...
ASK FOR THE SUPPORT OF THOSE WHO LIVE WITH YOU
Have the support of those who live with us: The family must contribute to respect spaces, not to disturb and to collaborate in the timetable set for teleworking.
... AND DON'T LEAD A SEDENTARY LIFE!
As far as you can... try to do some exercise at home... You can walk, (try to get at least 4000 steps a day, given the situation), but if not... there are exercises available on the internet for these cases. We want you as healthy as an apple!
